In most parts of the world people get involved in projects because they have seen a potential of using the project as a reference for future pursuits. In some other regions, especially Africa, people want instant benefits and always ask the question ‘What is in it for me?’
Being that we operate in a part of the world where – of the above statement – the latter is the case, we have developed the Sponscout® involvement prgramme in order to show the benefits of teamwork, which is the only key to success in a functional and conscious society, while at the same time respecting individual mentalities. Our idea might sound very unreal but it has already been proven to function. Every involvement is to be regulated with a transparent legal and binding contract.
What is a “Sponscout?®
A sponscout is a person who does not have money to fund a production or invest in a film project but has contact to, or is able to influence those who have money.
The term “Sponscout” is coined from Sponsors’ Scout. It is a new film-funding strategy developed by Shrinkfish®. It is not to be compared to – or mistaken with- “Crowdsourcing” because it functions differently and is based on an long-observed attitude of people of certain geographical areas towards involvements in film projects. This practice is more noticeable in the so-called third-world countries but heavily present in the African region. After an intensive study of this phenomenon, Shrinkfish decided to explore it in productions, thus giving the affected individuals the authentic chance to get actively involved in co-productions.
What is my job as a “Sponscout”?
As a “Sponscout” you either introduce us to a potential sponsor or present them the project. If in the end money is received from them, be it a loan or a token, you receive a certain percentage of the total amount as a commission (see middle column)
What is in it for me?
A “Sponsout” has the following advantages:
1Financial Gain:
a) If you get sponsors to give us money for the project, you will receive 28% of the sum the sponsors gave us.
b) If you suggest a sponsor and we end up receivig money from them, you will receive 20% of the sum they gave us.
This is as clear as said and will be regulated through a transparent contract between both parties.
2 Recognition:
Your name appears in the credits as a REGIONAL CONSULTANT. If you are a person pursueing a career in consultancy for film productions or similar, we do not need to say what an asset this would be.
